Meet Gay Johnson
Certified Specialist of Wine – Society of Wine Educators
Certificate Level II – International Sommelier Guild (ISG)
Being a travel consultant at Fine Living Enthusiast is a dream come true because she gets to “work” with her passions wine, jazz and travel. Since becoming a wine enthusiast about 20 years ago, just about everyday is spent drinking, talking, reading, writing and enjoying the wonderful nectar of the gods and goddesses. Her love of wine has developed into a full-blown affair.
In addition to earning her CSW designation, she is constantly taking courses and reading about wine to further enhance the vacation experience of her clients. She carefully selects destinations for her clients that offer the ultimate wine and food adventure mixed in with local culture and attractions.
Gay’s love of jazz started at an early age when her father “baptized” her with jazz recordings of the greats. So, whether she is sitting in an airport waiting for a flight or on the patio with her laptop, the jazz music is a constant groove in the background. So if you want to enjoy a jazz event, she’s the perfect person to help you plan a jazz cruise or a jazz club getaway.
Gay started writing in 6th grade as the Editor of her grade school newspaper. Since then, she has written a host of articles for local, regional and national newspapers and magazines. Gay blogs as The Wine Gospel and shares posts with her business partner Stephanie as The Travel Gospel.
Meet Stephanie Terry
Stephanie became a travel consultant in 2008 and uses her extensive travel experiences and cooking expertise to help travelers create their dream vacations. Have you always dreamed of taking cooking classes in Italy? Would you like to join an escorted Tuscany cooking school tour or do you need help planning a customized anniversary escape? How about a France food and wine trip?
Stephanie is a true food aficionado. Although she spent time taking culinary and baking classes, her real cooking “chops” were earned while standing over the hot stove and a sizzling barbecue grill preparing delicious meals for family and friends.
Ask her about some of her favorite restaurant meals and she will engage you in a five-minute conversation about the preparation techniques used, seasonings, cut of meat, appearance and of course flavors of the meal. Naturally, she also always has ideas for slight improvements and alterations.
As a foodie, Stephanie has the expertise to plan an epicurean fine dining tour. She can plan a customize itinerary that includes luxurious accommodations along with exquisite fine dining in the city of your dreams.
Need ideas on the best islands to sample rum? Having lived in Puerto Rico and traveled throughout the Caribbean, she has earned a reputation as the “Rum Bunny”. Need a restaurant idea while in Maui? She can provide several and give you entrée suggestions.
