7-night Wine Cruise / 5-night Paris & Loire Valley

Cruise from only $$2,549 p/p

The Bordeaux wine region is the most famous in the world.  It’s renown for exceptional Bordeaux wines and is the undisputed king of fine wine. Many wine enthusiasts have a Bordeaux visit on their Bucket List. A river cruise is an easy and affordable way to visit this “Wine Mecca” and sample its celebrated wines. Join us on April 15 – 22, 2016 as we sail along the Gironde estuary through Bordeaux.

The complete wine vacation includes a 2-night stay in Paris, followed by a 7-night cruise through the Bordeaux region. Then, head to some of the prettiest pastoral lands in France up to the Loire Valley for two nights. Your wine-filled vacation concludes in Paris. You may join us for the pre and/or post nights or the cruise only. Whichever you choose, you will certainly enjoy a vacation of a lifetime.

Many people don’t realize that Bordeaux is also a city, located on the western side of the Garonne River. This small city of approximately 230,000 people commands a huge presence in the wine industry. Many buildings from the 18th century remain and are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. On your visit, you’ll have free time to explore this historic town.

Left Bank/Right Bank

The Dordogne, Garonne and Gironde Rivers form an estuary called the Gironde that is as central to understanding Bordeaux wines, as are the grape blends. Bordeaux is divided into two regions, the Left Bank and the Right Bank. The Left Bank is located west and south of the Garonne and Gironde Rivers. The Right Bank is the area north of the Dordogne in Bordeaux.

As you sip wine on your Taste of Bordeaux cruise, sit back and enjoy both banks, which have gorgeous scenery and stunning chateaux. You’ll visit some of the most esteemed communes. Sip famous Sauterne dessert wine in Cadillac; and enjoy wine tastings in Pauillac and Saint-Émilion. It simply doesn’t get any better than this.
